Class Descriptions


Hatha Yoga - In this class you will be guided by the instructor through a series of poses designed to stretch and strengthen your body. Hatha Yoga classes may include continuous movement through vinyasa or in depth focus on specific poses, all ending with deep relaxation. Each class will be different. This class is suitable for all levels of students, with modifications offered to fit your individual needs.

Yin Yoga - In this class you will be led through a series of deeply relaxing postures designed to target the connective tissues of the body, specifically the hips, lower back, pelvis, and spine. These postures are practiced in a relaxed position using props to align your body for optimum comfort. In addition, this class focuses on directing your awareness inward, creating balance and harmony in your mind. This class is suitable for all levels of students.

Vinyasa Yoga - Vinyasa Yoga takes the static postures of Hatha Yoga and links them together with breath awareness to create a moving meditation. There is less focus on alignment in a Vinyasa Yoga class.  Level 2.

Introduction to Vinyasa - Our introduction to vinyasa classes will prepare you for both our vinyasa yoga and vinyasa 90 classes.  In this class we will focus on proper Ujjayi breathing technique for vinyasa yoga, as well as linking basic postures together with the breath. Introduction to vinyasa will move at a slower pace than our regular vinyasa yoga classes and is suitable for all levels of students.

Vinyasa 90 - Taking elements from the Jivamukti Yoga Method and Bhakti Vinyasa Yoga as taught by Michael Johnson, this rigorous 90 minute Vinyasa Yoga class will challenge you both inside and out. There's a strong emphasis on breathing technique and empowerment to take your practice to the next level. Each class is based on a theme from yoga philosophy and includes time for discussion, asana practice, relaxation and meditation. Level 2.

Hatha Flow - Similar to our Hatha Yoga classes, Hatha Flow will provide detailed alignment instruction while linking postures together through breath awareness. This class is suitable for all levels.

Restorative Yoga - A class designed to rest and restore your body. Props are utilized to promote optimal comfort and relaxation. This class is suitable for all levels.

Gentle Yoga - Relax and unwind in our Gentle Yoga classes. These classes combine our classic Hatha Yoga postures with deeply relaxing Restorative Yoga postures. This class is suitable for all levels of students.

Yoga + Meditation - A 50 minute all-levels Vinyasa Yoga flow followed by a 15 minute guided mediation that will set you aglow from the inside out! We will seal our practice with a 10 minute blissed-out savasana. If you are new to meditation or would like to deepen your study, this class is for you.

Prenatal/Postnatal Yoga - Pregnant women are welcome to attend any of our Hatha Yoga classes, however, prenatal yoga class is an opportunity for moms-to-be to connect with one another. Each class will have time for discussion of pregnancy, labor, delivery and bringing home a new baby. Prenatal Yoga classes are specifically designed to support and nurture the mother-to-be through all stages of pregnancy.

Yin/Yang Fusion - This class combines elements from our Yin Yoga classes and Hatha Yoga classes, creating a balance between stretching and strengthening in your practice. This class is suitable for all levels.

90 @ 9 - (April - June) Kari teaches Qigong Ba Duan Jin, (Eight Pieces of Brocade), in the method of her teacher, Taiji Grand Master Ding Mingye, combined with drum meditation, and lessons on the deeply intertwined roots of Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine.  This timeless practice of 8 flowing postures with breath clears meridians, (energy channels), in the body and its fields, regulates yin and yang energies, and imparts a refined elegance, glowing vitality, and healthful longevity, to those who practice regularly, especially in the presence of nature.


Level Descriptions


Level 1 -  All level 1 classes are beginner friendly and include no "advanced" postures (i.e. no arm balances, handstands, headstands, etc.). Level 1 classes will focus heavily on specific alignment, and learning proper breathing techniques.

Level 2 -  For all level 2 classes we recommend at least 3 months of consistent yoga practice before attending. Level 2 classes will include "advanced" postures, and may not include specific instructions for modification (though modification is always welcome - this is why 3 months of consistent practice will be helpful). In a level 2 class students can expect to flow between postures, and level 2 classes will include arm balances, and inversions.

Level 1-2 - These classes contain elements from both level 1 and level 2 classes, students can expect more advanced postures, but specific instruction for modification will be offered.
